FEB 17 South Park Area RC Society : 12th Annual Winter Fly-In : Held on the Shore of Lakee Dillon at the Farmer's Korner Area at the South End of the lake, just off Swan Mountain Road at the fisherman's parking area. July 13-14 Ladies Run Fairplay This is the weekend that Fairplay is turned over to the Ladie's Run motorcycle rally. They arrive about 1pm Saturday and begin their contests on Front St. until around 5pm. The rest of the evening begins the party with bands and dances in the local bars and American Legion Hall. Proceeds go to local charities. Call 836-2698 for more info.

July 13-21 Park County Fair located at the County Fairgrounds in Fairplay for information please call the extension office at 836-2771 ext 644

July 20-21 Alma Festival in the Clouds This festival will entertain you with a wide variety of music throughout the weekend as well as arts, crafts and a mountain man encampment. Call 836-0964 for info

July 27-28 53rd Annual World Championship Pack Burro Race Fairplay. This weekend starts off with the llamas running on Saturday and the Burro races on Sunday. The weekend also includes parades, arts and crafts booths and a variety of entertainments. For inf. call 836-2090

July 25-28 Bayou Salado Rendezvous- just outside Fairplay off Hwy 285 is a historical reenactment of a mountain man rendezvous during the fur trade era. The public is welcome from 9am to 5pm daily. Call 836-2698 for more info

Aug 3-4 Hartsel Days Call Susie 836-2233

Aug 4-11 College Rendezvous sponsored by the Colorado State Muzzle Loaders Assoc. This is the BIG one. The mountain man rendezvous specializes in teaching various primitive skills such as beadwork, skinning a beaver, flintknapping, putting up a tee- pee, etc... Camp is open to the public from 9am to 5pm- after hours you are welcome to stay if you have period clothing. This rendezvous is located in the lost park area. Just follow the signs. Aug 17 ED SNELL memorial 10K run/walk This long time event will start in Cohen Park in Fairplay And end at the old school in Alma Registration starts at 8am in Cohen Park. Call 836-2627 for info

Aug 20-25 Como Rendezvous This is the last mountain man rendezvous of the summer in South Park. The public is welcome on the 26th and 27th. All other times require period dress. For info call Jack Portice at 836-7151

September 21nd (date Tentative) Hartsel Fall Festival call 836- 2458

October 15 Closing day for South Park City Museum

Nov 9 Chili Cook off American Legion Hut Fairplay Where the public is the judge in red, green, miscellaneous, and restaurant categories. Entry fee for chili is $5.00 must be made in advance and brought in a crockpot hot to the Legion hut by 5:30pm
